What are your opinions on fairy tales? Do you love them? Do you hate them? Who do you identify with? Are these stories important? Have you created something that subverts the ableist tropes of the fairy tale genre? Send us your thoughts, essays, articles, anecdotes, poems, fiction or artwork!
Submission Guidelines
Fiction and Non-Fiction:
Send up to 2,000 words.
Poetry:
Please limit your submission to 3 poems.
Artwork:
Send 1 piece of art per submission. If you would like to submit multiple pieces of art, please send each submission in a separate email. We also ask that your email includes a detailed image description of your work.
Please attach your writing as a word document or include it in the body of the email.
You are welcome to include an author bio (up to 150 words) if you want to, but it is not compulsory.
Disabled Tales is working with The Folklore Library and Archive to ensure the work published on this website is preserved for the future. If you do not wish your work to be preserved in their archive, please say so in your submission email. This will not affect our decision on your work.
